A/B-Scan ultrasound units are a large part of the ophthalmic ultrasound market because they are appealing to eye care practitioners who want to purchase ophthalmic ultrasound units, but do not have enough space to house both an A-Scan and B-Scan unit. In addition, purchasing a single A/B-Scan ultrasound is a more cost-effective strategy than buying each unit separately. 
Due to limited office space in many eye care offices, combined A-Scan and B-Scan devices are attractive options. Additionally, pachymeters are often combined with keratometers and tonometers.
